3rd Line Support Technician (6 month FTC)

Job Introduction

Colas’s IT team, based at head office in Birmingham Business Park Solihull, are responsible for maintaining our devices and infrastructure to ensure user satisfaction and minimal downtime across the business. Reporting into the ICT Service Desk Manager the successful 3rd Line Support Technician will work collaboratively with the rest of the IT team to support our internal customer base.

Main Responsibility

This is an application and systems support role – you’ll provide 3rd line support to systems and liaise with external support services for business application requirements. You’ll take the lead on implementing infrastructure and application change projects in the UK, liaising with ICT colleagues in France.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have a strong and varied background in IT. From a technical point of view, we’re looking for the following:

  • Extensive Microsoft exposure specifically around Server. O365 useful.
  • Network Administration and Implementation Experience – LAN, WAN and MPLS Networks
  • Virtualisation – Hyper-V preferable.
  • Awareness of Dell SANs or equivalent.
  • SharePoint Online and Microsoft Power Apps knowledge.
  • Database – SQL Administration and Provisioning
  • ICT Project Management experience
  • Microsoft Servers and Operating Systems
  • Understanding of ITIL procedures and processes
  • SSL Certification and Renewal Experience
  • IIS/Apache Administration and Implementation Experience
