Job Introduction
Colas is looking to recruit two Estimators for the company's Preconstruction business unit, which is responsible for tendering large projects and winning work for Colas Limited. We’ve had great successes recently after winning work in the Bristol and Midlands regions, working on the council's highways frameworks. This is an opportunity to join the team to support pricing on future business opportunities. This is a full time permanent role based in Birmingham.
Main Responsibility
Liaising with departments across the wider Colas Ltd group Estimators establish the most commercially advantageous solution, pricing from first principles whilst taking account of opportunities and risks within the bid.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have highways sector Estimating experience or, alternatively, in a civils capacity relating to horizontal construction (inc. housing, infrastructure, car parks and rail). You must have experience working with NEC contracts. Personally, you’ll have good attention to detail, be commercially astute with a keen eye for risk as well as a positive and ambitious approach to winning work.
