Head Office Accountant

Job Introduction

Our Finance team based at head office in Birmingham Business Park, Solihull, are recruiting an Head Office Accountant with responsibility for supporting the wider business with cost control and general bookkeeping. Reporting into the Head of Financial Reporting, you’ll have line management responsibility for up to 3 Accounts Assistants and play a key role in month end accounting.

Main Responsibility

The Head Office Accountant will produce monthly management accounts and regular financial reports which are submitted to the Colas board and parent group. You’ll support in preparing VAT returns, allocating central costs throughout the business, doing balance sheet reconciliations and anything adhoc required by the management team.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant and have previous experience in a management accountant type role or similar, ideally with atleast a couple of years’ PQE. You’ll be a dynamic individual and committed to supporting the team and wider business.
