Highways Maintenance Planner

Job Introduction

As Colas continues on its pathway of investment into the UK and business expansion, the company is now looking to recruit three Highways Maintenance Planners following its success with the new £350m tender award for long term maintenance works. The candidate will provide planning and programming on National Highways Area 9 Maintenance & Response Contract, depending on the client requirements. The role also supports the Lead Planner in mobilising and resourcing the works delivery programme ready for go live. This is a fixed term contract, for 3 months minimum and will be based in Birmingham.

Main Responsibility

The Highways Maintenance Contract will cover a variety of work including producing and working a suitably compliant delivery programme, ensuring that the Area 9 contract is suitably resourced for delivery from 1st July 2022 onwards. Other key objectives include identifying skill gaps within the programme and resource, securing Roadspace for Traffic Management, preparing and creating job packs to ensure Health & Safety Compliance for day 1 as well as receiving works orders from clients works order management system.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be suitably experienced and qualified for the position and is likely to be educated to a professional level with professional qualifications (or working towards). The person will have a detailed working knowledge of relevant softwares (Microsoft Project and Primavera P6), Statutory Authority C3, C4 and C5 processes.
