Job Introduction
Colas UK Projects delivers major transport infrastructure solutions in the UK, Ireland and internationally. Our huge global expertise alongside the strength of our UK in-house specialist teams, local manufacturing and 96-year knowledge base and experience, brings a unique mix of local specialists and global resources to projects. Due to growth in the department, we are recruiting for a Public Liaison Officer, based in Kent, to lead in communicating our works activities with our client, stakeholders and the wider public.
Main Responsibility
The successful Public Liaison Officer will initially support a large project in Kent and be flexible to support other schemes when required, in addition to, collaborating with local authorities and the Project Manager to organise and lead an initial Q&A session for key stakeholders, such as surrounding colleges, shops, homeowners and businesses. You will be required to attend regular meetings with representatives from any local authorities and the Project Manager to assess the effectiveness of the communications strategy.
The Ideal Candidate
The perfect candidate will be a strong communicator with experience in a similar role and have a positive attitude to working with people to find positive outcomes. We are looking for a strong team player who is able to build strong relationships across the local community and take lead communicating with all of our activities. You will be able to keep accurate records and provide detailed reports on delivery, have the ability to work under pressure and a natural ability to learn new skills. You’ll be commutable to Kent and be flexible to support other initiatives in Kent occasionally.
