Job Introduction
Colas is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join its innovative Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) business.
The candidate will report directly to the Commercial Manager and be part of Colas’ circa 30 people strong ITS team in the UK.
Main Responsibility
The Quantity Surveyor’s work will include, but is not limited to:
- Financial and commercial process including the management of budgets, cost and forecasting
- Commercial management and contract administration including supply chain procurement and management
- Planning and monitoring works using programmes
- Cost Planning and pre-contract cost control
- Project/commercial management reporting
- Recording works progress and assessing the effects of delay, prolongation, and disruption
- Bills of quantities, schedules of rates and activity schedules
- Management of interim and financial accounts.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have worked on ITS Frameworks, and projects covering street lighting, traffic signals and roadside technology. The position holder will ensure that all the commercial matters of a project, including, procurement, risk, cost, and value reporting, forecasting as well as contractual matters are managed effectively and efficiently.
As the sole Quantity Surveyor in the ITS team, subject to performance, there is opportunities for growth for ambitious and high performing professionals.
