Job Introduction
Our Contracting South business unit is going from strength to strength with recent successes in the Midlands and Bristol on the council’s highways frameworks. As a result of growing demand, we’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities on a number of Midlands based schemes including the Midland Metro Alliance (MMA). It’s important that the successful candidate is commutable to Birmingham and has a relevant commercial background in highways/civils.
Main Responsibility
The successful Quantity Surveyor will initially support our Hagley Road and Flood Street projects on the MMA scheme and be flexible to support other schemes when required. Main responsibilities include managing the procurement of sub-contract packages and maintain the projects forecast. The role will be the first point of contact for commercial matters on the project and you will be involved in the preparation and submission of final accounts; ensuring timeous receipt of monies by efficient invoicing and collection of all debts.
The Ideal Candidate
The perfect candidate will be; a degree qualified Quantity Surveyor with in depth, demonstrable evidence of relevant civil and highway post degree experience. An excellent communicator, client focused with good commercial awareness and commitment to business success. You will have good time management/attitude to change, ability to plan and prioritise your own workload working under pressure to meet deadlines. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
