Job Introduction

Colas UK Projects delivers major transport infrastructure solutions in the UK, Ireland and internationally. Our huge global expertise alongside the strength of our UK in-house specialist teams, local manufacturing and 96-year knowledge base and experience, brings a unique mix of local specialists and global resources to projects. Due to growth in the procurement department, we are recruiting for a Senior Buyer, based in Birmingham Business Park, Solihull.

Main Responsibility

You’ll work closely with the Procurement Manager to assist in the identification of materials, plant, sub-contract and service framework requirements across all business units together with specific requirements. Utilising the Colas ltd procurement process, the Buyer will put in place effective framework agreements for use by Colas ensuring all purchase and sub-contract orders are managed effectively in line with Colas governance policies and procedures.

The Ideal Candidate

The perfect candidate will have previous supply and subcontract procurement experience, ideally for a large, multi-site construction/civil-engineering company. You will have good working knowledge of ERP platforms, framework agreements and NEC contracts. You’ll have excellent communication and negotiation skills and previous highways/aggregates industry experience.
