Job Introduction
Colas ltd are responsible for large civil engineering infrastructure projects throughout the UK and globally. We’ve procured a number of large contracts in 2022 and don’t plan on slowing down. Due to business growth, we are recruiting for a Senior Buyer, responsible for supply and subcontract procurement, based in Birmingham Business Park, Solihull.
Main Responsibility
You’ll work closely with the Procurement Manager to assist in the identification of supply and subcontract procurement for a designated business unit with Colas. Utilising the Colas ltd procurement process, the Senior Buyer will put in place effective framework agreements for use by Colas ensuring all purchase and sub-contract orders are managed effectively in line with Colas governance policies and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
The perfect candidate will have previous supply and subcontract procurement experience, ideally for a large, multi-site construction/civil-engineering company. You will have good working knowledge of ERP platforms, framework agreements and NEC contracts. You’ll have excellent communication and negotiation skills and previous highways/aggregates industry experience.
