Job Introduction

 Colas Ltd has been awarded the 8-year Maintenance and Response contract for Area 9 by National Highways. Worth £328m the contract covers the Strategic Road Network within Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire as well as parts of Gloucestershire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

Across a total lane length of around 3,760 km of motorway and trunk roads, Colas will deliver cyclical maintenance, reactive maintenance, incident response, severe weather response and minor works in a region that has five strategically critical motorway interchange junctions as well as being at the heart of the new HS2 network and where Colas has a long-established base.

Colas are now looking to hire a Senior Finance Manager who will play a pivotal role and drive the wider team in the management of budgets and providing timely financial insight and analysis. Reporting into the Area 9 General Manager, the Senior Finance Manager supports and, in some areas, takes the lead, in the day to day management of budgets for the project, working independently and directly with different departments. This is a full-time and permanent role based in Quinton.

Main Responsibility

The candidate will be responsible for all aspects for financial control, financial reporting and accounting.

 

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant IMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent. They will have a minimum of 10 years post qualification relevant experience as a Senior Finance Manager, working within a construction and infrastructure services sector. Specifically, they will have knowledge of Long Term asset management contracts (Experience with National Highways is preferred). The ability to influence, challenge and support both financial and non-financial managers, along with being able to deliver credible analysis and insight into the results.
