Job Introduction
Colas are looking to hire a Setting Out Engineer for the £2m Queen Catherine Project. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the technical viability of the project works, (or part of the project works) and will participate in the health and safety, quality, environmental as well as commercial management of the project, This is permanent and full time position with further projects in the pipeline.
Main Responsibility
The successful candidate will carry out setting out and stay in advance of planned operations. They will ensure safe systems of work and adherence to Company Health and Safety Policy as well as assist in preparation of Method Statements, Risk and COSHH Assessments, and ensure compliance on site. The role will extend to producing permits to work, liaising with senior foreman on daily basis issues related to programme, resources, production, productivity necessary to meet with programme requirements as well as resolving technical difficulties and monitoring performance in terms of progress and quality, among other this.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate must have prior directly relevant experience combined with qualifications in any of;

SSSTS/SMSTS / IOSH (Safety Related Qualification)

Relevant CSCS card
-
Appropriate ONC/HNC/HND/Degree qualification in Construction / Civil Engineering

NRSWA (Supervisor)

Knowledge and understanding of NEC conditions of Contract, and in implementing contract processes.
